Father of the Bride tie

Phil's tie

I felt extremely privileged when my friend Laura asked me to embroider this message inside her dad’s tie for her wedding this summer. It reads ‘Dad, I loved you first’ and the wedding date.

The tie was a champagne coloured faux silk, so I used a natural cotton and navy thread for the message. It was tricky getting the letters small enough to fit in the heart, which I hand stitched onto the reverse of the tie. Fiddly business indeed!

Laura wanted it mounted on navy cotton, so I used fabric glue and I’m not 100% happy with the result. I’d love an opportunity to make another one – so put in you requests!
